Base Camp is a project run by the Partnership Council. It covers the city of Nottingham.
This is a small local project established in response to an identified need for more support and guidance for new and existing Pakistani community and residents groups as well as individuals to get involved in the development of their community.
Groups and individuals, who are already engaged in community activities or who want to establish a new group that represent and benefit the local Pakistani community, can join the Base Camp Project.
Support that is offered by Base Camp is:
- One to one support for community or residents groups and individuals
- Access to a resource room with a range of information including ‘examples of’ and ‘how to’ guides
- Access to a computer
- Friendly understanding approach, including the facility of Pakistani languages – Urdu, Punjabi and Mirpuri
- Advice and information
- Capacity building through formal and informal training events* on project management and administration, financial and legal procedures, fundraising, publicity, networking and communication, etc
- Sign posting: referral to local organisations for relevant support
**Access to training for groups will be delivered by different training providers when required**
